mY dOg CoOpEr

Poor Cooper had to get "fixed" a couple of weeks ago. People told me it would calm him down a little bit and he wouldn't run (looking for love) so much. Especially if I wasn't going to bread him...it was the right thing to do. Well, the last couple of weeks have been quite the challenge. You see, they don't stitch the cut up anymore, just glue. Glue that can't get wet for 2 whole weeks. Guess what Vets!!! It's winter out AND dogs lick themselves. In order to keep Cooper's slice shut, I had to get creative.

The 1st Attempt: We tried a cone. Coop found away around it.


The 2nd Attempt:This was my Mom's idea. We borrowed a diaper from a neighbor. (That was an awkward door convo since we didn't call ahead of time.) Once we got back to the house Cooper had that thing off in 12 minutes FLAT! Even with his cone still on!


The 3rd and FINAL Attempt:Feeling hopeless I found a small doll shirt and put Coop's legs through the arm holes. It was a little loose on top so I rubberbanded his hair and the shirt into a cute little pony tail in the middle of his back. IT WORKED! He couldn't get the shirt off but, I did feel a little bit bad when he couldn't walk very well either. Anyway, he wore that for a week and now he is doing MUCH better......


.....though I will say he is NO calmer. In fact, I'd venture to say crazier than EVER. Never before had Cooper ran in circles around my couch over and over and over until he makes me dizzy. And it was rough keeping him out of the snow for so long. He just LOVES it so much!!!




Watching the snow from the porch is a past time that takes hours.

Jared wasn't too pleased when I brought Cooper home in this green winter coat. But honestly, how could you resist!?!??!!!
