I turned 26 yesterday. I remember when I turned 20. I was living in New York and I just bawled and bawled. I couldn’t believe I would never be a teenager again. It was the most depressing birthday ever. (And I was alone which didn't help the situation) But, 6 year later, I had one of the BEST birthday’s ever! I was able to spend the evening with my 3 favorite people, Jared, Libby and my Mom. When I got home from work that night, Jared had quite the surprise set up for me. A lavish meal with place-mats, balloons, and a chocolate cake. So thoughtful.
I debated giving Libby any cake only because I wanted HER birthday cake to be the first she tasted. But, she was reaching and I can’t say “no” to that cute face so, she dug in.
"What's this?"
(Notice how she sneaks it during my photo-op)
"I think I like it."
"I LOVE it!"
"Gotta get every last bit of delishesness!!!"

You left out your fourth favorite person that unfortunately couldn't be there but was thinking of you.
What a thoughtful hubby! love the candles in a smiley face pattern! :)
I'm glad it was a good birthday!
happy birthday!! I'm happy to hear Jared didn't let you down :)
Let's get together soon to celebrate it again!
And it was VERY sweet of him to call and invite me to dinner with you guys ... nice and thoughtful!
Turning 20 was super hard for me too ... I was alone at BYU Hawaii and thought that my best years were behind me - WHAT WAS I THINKING?????? Don't worry, there are only a few numbers that make you feel less than "happy" on your birthday.
Balloons and a cake? On your birthday? Yeah, that is original. Get used to your life going downhill
Dear Anonymous, don't be jealous your sad and alone. If you don't like my blog, don't read it! And definately don't comment. And if you do comment, have the nerve to comment under your real name/profile.
Anonymous- Seriously? Don't you think your comment is a bit cowardice? I mean if you really feel strongly about your point then why not just put your name there with it?
Or stick with the age old rule: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
Hey sweetie! Having lived what seems like a really LONG life, you need to always appreciate the little things - like someone taking the time to make a cake and stop and buy you balloons! Lots of people don't even get that much.
Love you! xoxo
There is definitely a lot more details to take into consideration, but many thanks for sharing this post.
